Award-winning actor Elijah Canlas celebrated his 23rd birthday on Wednesday, August 16.

His girlfriend, Miles Ocampo, shared a sweet tribute post for the Khalel, 15 star on Instagram.

“My bestfriend. My biggest blessing. I love you with all my heart, my love. Happy happy birthday, my buggy butbut,” she wrote in the caption.

“Thank you, my buggy,” replied Elijah. “For every day. For every moment.

“For the love, strength, and peace. I love you — today and always my love.”

Elijah’s birthday comes just weeks after the shocking death of his younger brother, JM.

The actor honored his late brother by a sharing a throwback clip of themselves together on his Instagram Stories.

He wrote, “I miss you making me feel special every birthday of mine. I miss you every day — and today especially.”

He also shared a photo of himself visiting his brother’s grave on his birthday.

“We visited you again today, JM. Here’s a photo of me with Vielle and Raizen. They still call you their favorite cousin ‘till now. Vielle still texts you everyday. We miss you so much,” he said.

Born Jamile Matthew Canlas, Elijah’s brother JM passed away on August 3 after struggling with his mental health.

He was 17.

The family confirmed his death through a Facebook post days later.

"It is with the heaviest heart and deep sorrow that our family announces the death of our bunso, Jamile Matthew Madiclum Canlas, earlier this morning. He was 17. JM, as he was known to many, was a talented actor, athlete, musician, singer, debater, and gamer. He was always a proud Filipino with a bias and compassion for the poor and oppressed. But most of all, JM will forever be remembered as an incredible young man, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, student, and friend," the post read.

Shortly after news of his passing, Elijah paid tribute to his late brother on Instagram.

“I love you more than anything, JM. Mahal na mahal ka namin! Mahal na mahal na mahal ka ni kuya! Mahal na mahal na mahal na mahal! Habang buhay. Hambambuhay,” he wrote.
