Ellen Adarna answered a question sent in by a fan via her Instagram Stories over the weekend that netizens reposted on various social media platforms such as TikTok and Twitter.

The said fan asked the actress if John Lloyd Cruz — her ex-boyfriend and the father of their five-year-old son — has been extending financial support for Elias.

Ellen was quick to address the question, revealing that the veteran actor has been quite generous in providing for the needs of their son at the moment.

“I am going to answer this because I get this a lot. Yes, he does. He asked me how much does Elias need. I gave him a breakdown of his basic needs, just his basic needs. That’s P10,000 max,” Ellen said.

Ellen went on to share in her Instagram story post that John Lloyd tries to give her more than the amount she tells him. The celebrity mother refuses to receive more than P20,000 since she also has her “obligations and responsibilities” for their son.

“I know he’s more than capable of giving more than that, but I told him I cannot accept anything more than P20,000 and that’s it,” she added.

The two have been co-parenting their son ever since they announced their split in 2019.

Ellen also explained why she does not ask for more than the basic needs of Elias since he has yet to start schooling.

“And because we are co-parenting, I have my obligations and responsibilities for Elias so it’s just fair. Anything more than P20,000 for me is just not right. Because he’s not schooling yet so that’s just basic needs,” she shared.

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, the actress revealed how their co-parenting setup works.

“We co-parent. Not naman half of the time, because of course most of the time he’s (Elias) with me. But in a month, he has 13 days with him (John Lloyd). He should have a good relationship with him,” Ellen previously said.
