As one of the children of former couple John Estrada and Janice de Belen, it was only natural for actress Inah de Belen to want to follow in her parents’ footsteps and get into acting.

Starting this year, Inah told PUSH in an exclusive interview about her first venture into producing with her reel-and-real life leading man Jake Vargas.

“Me and my boyfriend Jake are doing a movie right now called Sentimo. Later this year na siya ma-ri-release. It’s actually our first time producing a movie, kaming dalawa ni Jake and it’s under our own production company siya. But I can’t say yet what it’s about [yet],” she shared.

Even though she and Jake have worked together on other projects in the past, Inah admitted it is different now that they have decided to try doing a different film genre as well as being producers of the project.

“Actually sabi ko, hindi ba tayo ma-si-stereotype na love team na naman kasi magkasama na naman tayo sa isang film? But then, I realized na the reason why we work together always is because nagbibigayan talaga kami and our chemistry works so well. Pero yung movie na ito don’t worry guys, hindi siya talaga love story (laughs). It’s not intended to be a love story talaga but actually sobrang ganda ng story, especially for Jake. Kasi medyo mahirap yung gagawin niya na role,” she explained.

Unlike with acting where Inah can count on her parents for advice and guidance, Inah saod she is going out of her comfort zone with the help of good friends in the industry.

“Siyempre nakaka-nerbiyos because my family is in this industry. I’ve never done anything like this talaga, kahit yung mom ko wala naman siyang background sa producing. But it’s good to have people around you who are used to it.

“‘Yung director namin she’s a concert producer in the States talaga for 22 years. And she’s been in the industry also here in the Philippines for many, many years na. It’s good to have  good people around you. I think that’s the most important thing. Good people and trustworthy people talaga kasi sila yung mag-ga-guide sa iyo,” she said. 

With their film currently in production, Inah hopes fans will look forward to their exciting new project.

“It’s set for release later this year. I think November, mga ganun. It’s coming soon, Sentimo. Actually we have a lot more people with us in this movie so abangan na lang nila soon. We’re shooting now so sobrang exciting!”
