It’s no secret that the Barretto sisters have gone through several rough patches at different points in their lives. But as Claudine Barretto makes her comeback in showbiz, the Optimum Star revealed that all is well between her and her siblings.

In an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Claudine opened up about a lot of things including the perceived rivalry between her and her contemporary Judy Ann Santos which she instantly debunked. Claudine even said she hopes to work with the Teleserye Queen.

Boy Abunda also asked Claudine in the same interview about her relationship with her niece Julia and sisters Gretchen and Marjorie amid endless speculations surrounding their family. It can be recalled that the Barretto siblings made headlines in 2019 following a hullabaloo during the wake of their dad.

But according to Claudine, she and her siblings have since settled their differences.

Claudine also said her relationship with Julia has never been better, revealing the last time they saw each other was before the latter’s birthday in March this year.

“We’re good. She’s very busy, I’m very busy. I think the last time I saw her was last March before her birthday. ‘Pag may family events pa kami, ‘pag may birthday, kunyari sa birthday ng Kuya Mito ko, we see each other,” she said.

The 43-year-old star also said Julia sent her scrunchies from the actress’s own line of accessories.

“She also opened the Juju Club. She sent me scrunchies for my hair,” Claudine said.

“We saw each other when we watched ZsaZsa Zaturnnah,” she remarked. “Julia was there also. We took pictures but we didn’t bring them out on social media,” she added.

When asked how proud she is of her niece Julia — who is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the country right now — Claudine said she is super proud of her.

“I’m very, very proud. I’ve seen Expensive Candy,” she said. “I’m proud of whatever she’s achieving now and I would just want her to have more breaks para ma-showcase ‘yung acting niya talaga,” she said.

But Claudine said she is not only proud of Julia but all of her nieces and nephews in general.

“I’m not proud only of Julia but all my nieces [and nephews]. Dominique, Claui, Leon, Dani. I’m so proud. They grew up with me. Sila ‘yung bitbit-bitbit ko kahit saan,” she said.

Meanwhile, Claudine also opened up about her relationship with her sisters Gretchen and Marjorie.

Claudine said Gretchen is the reason why she bounced back and manage to get through the darkest chapters of her life. While they don’t get to spend much time with each other, she said Gretchen makes sure to give her a call from time to time.

“The reason why I’m also okay now after everything that I’ve been through was because of my sister Gretchen. She never left my side. We don’t get to spend time all the time but the words of wisdom, her being there kahit through phone lang, andami kong natutunan,” she said.

“Dada, Atong. They play a very big role in why I am okay today, mentally, emotionally, and physically because they believed in me. They never let go,” she added. “Just last week, Gretchen texted na parang she’s so proud of me na I’m getting my life back and all.”

Claudine also said “all is well” between her and her once estranged sibling Marjorie whom she often sees during family events.

“As for Marjorie, we don’t really get to talk-talk talaga but all is well. We see each other during lunches and meriendas with the family,” she said.

“Small talk. That’s good enough,” she added.
