Cornerstone Management Vice President Jeff Vadillo didn’t hesitate to defend one of his artists and closest friends, Moira Dela Torre, in a lengthy post last Sunday, May 28.

This comes after a post made by Lolito Go — who allegedly discredited the OPM singer as a songwriter — made rounds on social media.

Lolito is the husband of Libertine Amistoso, the composer of one of Moira's hits, "Titibo-Tibo." 

Lolito claimed that Moira asked him for a lower compensation when she was quoted for his price. He claimed that the OPM singer “just edited some of the lyrics” he wrote during the 2022 national elections.

“When she asked me to write a song for Leni, she just edited some of the lyrics and it became hers na. She also asked me to pen the caption for her [socmed] posts about the song. Pero sa mga press release, she got the credits,” Lolito said.

Lolito further claimed that he was a ghostwriter to Moira during the times when she was going through her relationship problem with her then-husband, Jason Hernandez.

“When Moira needs you, she will make you feel loved and cared for. Magaling sya mambola. She even asked me kung magkano price ko for ghostwriting for her last year noong nagkakalabuan na sila ni Jason. When I told her my price, tinawaran nya ako for 20k per month. I felt so insulted. But I iust kept that to myself,” he added.

In his post, Jeff answered all the claims made by Lolito.

“There is this FB Post currently circulating that’s casting shade on her integrity as an artist and songwriter. As a witness to her hard work and genuine talent, I cannot take this sitting down,” he wrote.

The Cornerstone executive added that he and Moira have been friends for almost two decades now, adding that he considers her his sister.

“This person claimed a “FUN FACT” (which is really not fun at all) that 95% of Moira’s hits were composed by Jason Marvin. Paubaya, Ikaw at Ako, Pabilin, EDSA, Patawad, Kumpas, Babalik Sayo, Saglit, and the list goes on. Then he added the question kung sino ang manggagamit?” He continued.

Jeff maintained that the claims of the person are “grossly inaccurate” since it is already public knowledge that Jason composed both "Paubaya" and "EDSA."

“The other songs 'Ikaw at Ako,' 'Pabilin,' 'Patawad,' 'Kumpas, 'Babalik Sayo,' were composed by both Moira and Jason (Moira even gave a bigger contribution to some of those songs). So as far as these songs are concerned, walang gamitan. Tawag diyan collaboration,” he said.

He added that Moira’s collaboration doesn’t make her less of an artist. Jeff continued to add that Moira would never need the services of another songwriter as she is fully capable of doing it herself — as she is “a genius” when it comes to making her own songs.

“'Saglit' is composed by Moira not to mention the entire Malaya album which includes the mega hits Malaya,' 'Tagu-Taguan,' 'Take her to the Moon' and 'Tagpuan.' It is also worth noting that her debut album is what jumpstarted Moira’s career and put her on the map,” he defended Moira.

He called out the attention of the person to “stop invalidating” Moira’s work as a songwriter. He also denied the claim of Moira asking if Lolito could be paid 20 thousand instead.

“Why would she pay when she is more than capable of doing it herself. Hindi pa siya sikat, sumusuka ng Songs after Songs si Moira. Doon sa nag sabi nun - are you implying na mas magaling kang songwriter kaysa sa kanya,” he said.

“Stop invalidating the work of a hardworking woman. She does not deserve this,” he ended.

Moira hasn't given any statement as of writing.
