Kapamilya singer Darren Espanto opened up about the romantic relationship rumors surrounding him and Cassy Legaspi during his guest appearance on Magandang Buhay which aired today, May 25.

He was asked by the hosts of the morning variety program about the real score between himself and the actress.

Darren and Cassy have been rumored to be in a relationship since 2019.

The 22-year-old singer-actor shared that Cassy is someone he runs to when he feels down as she lightens his mood each time they talk. Darren added that he is grateful to have a friend like Cassy.

“Siyempre si Cassy ang isa sa mga taong parang tinatakbuhan ko kapag medyo down po ako. When I need someone to talk to, she's always there, she's a great listener, she's a great person to ask advice for. At saka ang bilis niya pong makapag-lighten ng mood pagdating sa akin. So I'm really just grateful to have a friend like her," Darren shared.

He continued to open up about their rumored romance and admitted that they haven’t been “rushing into anything” since they are enjoying their time together. 

“Cassy and I are always very honest when people ask this, there's nothing happening official or anything. We are just enjoying each other's time. We're not rushing into anything po talaga,” he added.

Prior to his Magandang Buhay guest appearance, Darren celebrated his 22nd birthday with some of his close friends in the industry which included Cassy. He shared a glimpse of his celebration on his Instagram account. 

Meanwhile, Cassy penned a special message on her personal Instagram, to celebrate her friend’s birthday. 

“You are always so genuinely kind, thoughtful, caring, a true gentleman… the list goes on and on! Palagi mong sinasabi sa akin na kailangan ko mag rest and to take it easy, but you tend to forget to do that as well,” she wrote.

The two have denied dating rumors ever since they surfaced on social media.
