The younger sister of singer-actor Kyle Echarri, Bella, has died.

Kyle shared the sad news with his fans on Wednesday, April 5, as he shared a heartbreaking tribute to his sister on Instagram.

“To my princess: I love you more than you will ever know ta. You are the most amazing sister anyone could ever ask for. I already miss your hugs/kisses for Manong whenever he was sad and your cheers for whenever I was on stage. Now more than anything I’m happy to know that you’re done with the year of fighting something you never deserved… you can finally smile, sing, dance, swim, and EAT again. And don’t worry I know I didn’t lose my sister… I just got a new angel. I love you ta, Forever,” he said.

His mother, Marie Echarri, also confirmed the news, saying Bella passed away on April 1 after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was 12 years old.

“Our Princess, we will miss you,” she wrote.

“It’s sometimes hard to know why some things happen as they do, for so much joy and happiness was centered around you.

It seems so hard to comprehend that you’re no longer here,

But all the happy memories will help to keep you near.

You’re thought about with pride with each mention of your name,

Death cannot change a single thing.

“Our Dear Bella,

The love will always remain…

Always and forever in our hearts.”

“I think I will be asking God why for the rest of my life and never will I come to understand it. Even if God himself came to me and told me the reason, I don’t think it’ll be easy for me to accept it,” she said. “Some loss are too hard to bear and with great love comes great pain, and with great loss comes the greatest pain.

“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. Loved beyond words. Missed beyond measure,” she added.

Fans and celebrities extended their condolences to the grieving family in the comments section of her post, including Charlie Dizon, Maymay Entrata, Barbie Imperial, Ria Atayde, and Marjorie Barretto.

It was in June last year when Kyle, 19, shared that his younger sister was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

“My baby sister Bella has been my world since the day she was born. Just yesterday I was told by my family that my little girl was diagnosed with a brain tumor on May 2nd and she wanted to hide it from me because she said she didn’t want me to get stressed while I was working. To say it hurts is an understatement,” he said at the time.

“I love this girl 10x more than I love myself,” he continued. “She has finished her radiation treatment and now I’m asking for everyone’s prayers for my baby sister. She’s the most beautiful, smart, and amazing little kid that I will love forever. We have all high hopes and I’m hoping everyone can help pray for complete healing for my little girl.”

In a press conference that July, Kyle stressed how much he loves and treasures his little sister.

“Mahal na mahal ko po talaga 'yung kapatid ko. Alam n'yo naman po 'yun since Day 1. Tuwing nagge-guest naman siya sa Magandang Buhay talagang umiiyak po ako parati,” he said.

“Hindi n'yo po makikita ang ganitong Kyle Echarri kung wala po si Isabella Echarri kasi siya po talaga nagbago ng buhay ko. And she's always been the center of my life and everything that I do,” he added.
