Kapamilya star DJ JhaiHo shared how happy he was during the reopening of the Baa Baa Thai Tea branch in Malate, Manila last March 24. In an interview with PUSH, the celebrity turned businessman opened up why he decided to involve himself in this type of business.

The branch of Baa Baa Thai Tea in Malate, Manila is the fifth branch of the tea shop across the country according to JhaiHo.

JhaiHo revealed that he personally decided to continue the operations of the Malate branch as the previous owner decided to give it up. Alongside his business partners, the radio personality stepped up to maintain and renovate the whole branch. 

“Nag start na ito mag operate parang one year ago pero when the owner of this branch decided na igive up siya, siyempre as part of the Baa Baa Food Corp, ayaw namin siyang igive up so kinuha ko nalang ulit siya along with my partner tapos ito nirenovate namin lahat, binago namin lahat,” he shared.

The 24-year-old TV and radio personality saw a chance back in 2020 to invest some of his savings in the Thai tea business. JhaiHo added that he was previously just an endorser of the brand before he decided to partner with them. 

“Nung 2020, di ba natigil lahat ng trabaho so I decided na parang yung konting ipon ko palaguin ko siya sa ganitong klaseng negosyo. Nag tayo kami ng business and I partnered with Baa Baa. Endorser nila ako, nag start ako with Baa Baa 2019 tapos nung nakausap ko sila nung pandemic, sabi ko hindi forever ang showbiz so gusto ko naman yung ipon ko, umikot pera ko,” he said.

JhaiHo strongly believes that his booming Thai tea business will give Filipinos the opportunity to experience authentic Thai milk tea. He recalled how difficult it was for him to find the same authentic taste before his business entered the market. 

“Sabi ko nga sa past interviews nung natikman ko yung Thai milk tea sa Thailand, hinanap hanap ko siya sa Pilipinas and it’s hard for me na makahanap kasi puro powder yung gamit and dun yung sa Baa Baa kasi leaf talaga sila. Thai leaf [ang ginagamit]... Gusto ko siyang ishare sa buong Pilipinas na meron ganitong authentic Thai milk tea in the Philippines which is Baa Baa,” he shared.

Baa Baa Thai Tea has several branches across the country such as SM Manila, SM San Lazaro, SM North EDSA Annex, and UST Dapitan, and in Cebu to name a few.
