Veteran actress Lorna Tolentino has denied the claim of a certain Teodola Galacio about her late husband Rudy Fernandez being an adopted son. Lorna gave a statement which was exclusively released by Boy Abunda.

Lorna shared how the claims of Teodola were groundless and the actress reaffirmed that Rudy was a legitimate child.

“Nakakahiya naman na sagutin pa si lola na lahat ng legal documents ay meron si Daboy, proof na talagang Padilla-Fernandez at baby pictures. Ate Merle is Kuya Rudy’s eldest sister,” Lorna maintained, squashing the statement of Teodola.

The veteran actress had to release a statement after Teodola had an interview with radio station Brigada News FM last March 8. In the interview, she claimed that Rudy was her sibling who had to be put up for adoption because of her parents’ lack of financial capacity.

The 85 year-old also claimed in the same interview that she personally took care of the late actor when he was still an infant as their mother frequently visited the hospital due to an undisclosed illness.

Teodolo alleged that it was their neighbors who adopted her sibling and changed his last name to Fernandez.

Rudy’s sons, Mark Anthony and Rap had previously shared their opinion on the matter prior to Lorna’s statement. Rap shared that such information should be thoroughly fact-checked before media outlets should publish it.

The veteran actor passed away in 2008 after succumbing to cancer. Lorna and Rudy were married for 25 years prior to his passing. They have two sons together, Rap and Renz Fernandez. Rudy also has a child with Alma Moreno, actor Mark Anthony.

Meanwhile, Lorna is set to act in the film Yung Libro Sa Napanood Ko which is an official entry to the first-ever Summer Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). The veteran actress will be playing the role of Bela Padilla’s mother in the film.
