Jane de Leon gave her fans an update on her mother, who recently underwent surgery after sustaining an injury from an accident.

On Sunday, March 19, the Mars Ravelo’s Darna actress shared that her mother is now out of the hospital and is recovering well from her wrist surgery. 

The 24-year-old actress shared how proud she is of her mom Maricor for overcoming her latest surgery, revealing that the latter has survived multiple health scares in the past.  

“I know that it must be difficult especially as this is your 8th surgery (head, heart x4, legs and now your wrist). Every surgery is extra dangerous for you because of your heart problem. Yet here you are fighting for us,” she told her mother.

“The scars on your body made us call you ‘Frankenstein Mom’ to which you just answer with a smile. You’re such a strong person mama and I am proud of you,” Jane added.

She then thanked all those who prayed for her mom’s successful surgery and fast recovery. “THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRAYERS EVERYONE!” Jane said.

It was on March 19 when Jane first started asking her fans for prayers as she revealed that her mother had to undergo surgery following an accident.

“Our mom got into an accident last Friday (March 10) and today is her surgery. It breaks my heart to see her in this situation. I'm doing my best to stay positive and make her smile even though she’s in pain,” Jane wrote.

“Sorry if I'm inactive. We are taking care of our mom,” she said. “Please pray for the success of my mother’s surgery.”

Just last December, Jane herself who was hospitalized after she tested positive for dengue and urinary tract infection (UTI). She was admitted to the hospital for over a week and went straight back to work following her recovery.

Jane was the lead star of Mars Ravelo’s Darna, which ended last February after a successful six-month run. The actress has dedicated the life-changing stint to her mother who has been incredibly supportive of her since she joined showbiz.

“To my family who've been with me through my ups and downs. I'm doing this for you Mama and Kuya. The effort and sacrifices I poured [into] every project and opportunity [are] all for our family. … Mahal ko kayo," Jane said.
