Constance Wu — best known to Filipino fans for playing Rachel Chu in the 2018 rom-com film Crazy Rich Asians — is pregnant with her second baby.

The actress, 40, shared the exciting news on her Instagram Stories Wednesday, (February 22), posting a snapshot of herself showcasing her growing baby bump. Constance is expecting her second child with her partner, musician Ryan Kattner.

“Bun in the oven. Filipinese baby #2 coming soon,” wrote Constance.

Both Constance and her partner are of Asian descent. The actress, though born and raised in the United States, is Taiwanese, while Ryan — lead singer of the band Man Man — is half-Filipino. The pair welcomed their first child together — a daughter — back in August 2020.

Though they have yet to introduce her to the public, Constance gushed about their firstborn during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2021.

“I had a beautiful baby girl in August. She's the best, she's the best. She has a full head of hair. She has a blue butt," she said.

At the time, she revealed that their daughter had a “Mongolian spot,” or congenital dermal melanocytosis, which is a kind of birthmark commonly found in Asian newborns.

"Apparently, it happens in a lot of Asian babies, and my boyfriend and I are both Asian," said Constance.

Constance first rose to fame for her role as Jessica Huang in the ABC comedy series Fresh Off the Boat. In 2018, she starred as Rachel Chu in the hit movie Crazy Rich Asians based on the novel by Singapore-American author Kevin Kwan. She received a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a comedy/musical for her role in the film, which featured Filipina actress Kris Aquino as Princess Intan.

Since then, Constance has starred in other films and television shows including Hustlers with Jennifer Lopez and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. She was recently seen on Prime’s hit thriller The Terminal List alongside Chris Pratt. The show was renewed for a second season this month.
