Various Filipino artists were recognized at the recently concluded Asia Artist Awards (AAA) held at the Philippine Arena on Thursday, December 14.

P-Pop group SB19 took home two awards: the AAA Best Artist (Singer) Award and AAA Hot Trend Award.

In their speech, the group remarked that receiving the award is a dream come true for them.

"Noon po pangarap lang po namin ang mag-release ng kanta pero ngayon po nasa harap na niyo po kami at tumatanggap ng award. Napakalaking bagay po ito para sa amin at siyempre para sa buong community ng Filipino music," SB19 member Stell said.

The group also dedicated their award to their fans.

"Of course po sa aming ATIN (their fan group), sa aming pinakamamahal na ATIN maraming, maraming salamat sa support, sa pagmamahal, sa pagtatiyaga, at sa pag-aantay sa amin. Inuulit po namin, itong award na ito hindi lang para sa amin, para sa ating lahat ito. And of course  we are happy and we are very honored to showcase Filipino music all around the world," Stell added.

Meanwhile, another big winner at the AAA is Melai Cantiveros who received the AAA Best Actor Award.

The Kapamilya comedienne instigated major entertainment at the Philippine Arena when she delivered her playful and endearing speech.

"If someone (questions) why I have (an) award, don't worry, I question too. I just receive an award all my life from my mother and father every time they are angry to me. But tonight, my heart is kuan... the best. I think it's because God moves in mysterious ways," Melai said.

Another Kapamilya star who received recognition at the event is Kathryn Bernardo. The actress won the AAA Fabulous Award.

"For those of you who don't know me, my name is Kathryn Bernardo and I'm a Filipina actress. Wow. What an honor to be recognized tonight with these beautiful and talented people. Thank you so much for this fabulous award. This is my first time attending this and nakaka-proud na bilang Pilipino tayo ang nagho-host ng ganitong event di ba?" she said.

The actress added: "Also I want to take this opportunity to thank everybody for supporting Filipino-made TV series and as well as movies. Patapos na 'yung taon but I feel so blessed and I am sharing this award to all of you."

Daniel Padilla also took home the Fabulous Award. "Thank you sa AAA and everyone maraming salamat sa inyo. Enjoy the night and good night," he said in his speech.

Filipino pop-folk band Ben&Ben won the AAA Best Choice Award.

"We are Ben&Ben and we did not expect this. Honestly we are very very surprised. We just want to say thank you to each and everyone of you for being here. We just want to say thank you to all the artists. It's such an honor to be able to watch amazing performances tonight. We are fans," the band stated after receiving their award.

Meanwhile, P-pop global group HORI7ON received the AAA Focus Award.

"Filipinos and Koreans have a beautiful relationship for the longest time and HORI7ON is so glad to be part of that beautiful bridge. Last year, pinapangarap lang namin na baka mapanood ng live [ang] aming mga iniidiolo  namin pero ngayon nabigyan kami ng opportunity na makasali sa prestihiyosong award na ito," the group said.
