FPJ’s Batang Quiapo star Coco Martin paid tribute to "Da King" Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) on his death anniversary last Thursday, December 14. The Kapamilya actor took to his Instagram to honor the late action star.

Coco has always honored the late actor’s death anniversary as he considered him as his idol and inspiration as an actor.

“Sa aking idolo at inspirasyon, ang nag-iisang Da King, Mananatiling buhay ang lahat ng iyong obra sa puso’t isipan ng bawat Pilipino,” he wrote.

“Maraming Maraming Salamat sa iyong pamana, alaala, at gabay,” he added.

Netizens also honored FPJ’s death anniversary. They also paid tribute to the late actor’s wife, Susan Roces, who passed away last year.

“Happy birthday in heaven idol FPJ d kita malilimutan dahil ikaw ang alamat ng pelikulang Pilipino,” a netizen commented.

“The spirit of FPJ stay alive in the hearts of many more in the hearts of Poe family who devotedly continue all Support and Help advocacies planted by FPJ for fellow Filipinos particularly those in big need for hungry stomach and in need whom they got no one to turn to,” a proud fan shared.

Meanwhile, Senator Grace Poe and her family went to her parent’s grave as well to pay tribute to FPJ. The senator shared that they will be giving away limited edition commemorative Beep cards with the face of Da King to passengers riding at the FPJ station of the LRT-1 line.

“Lagi kang nasa aming puso at alaala, Papa,” she wrote.

This year marks the 19th death anniversary of the late National Artist for Film.
