Ahead of the highly anticipated reunion concert of Bamboo Mañalac, Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta, and Nathan Azarcon, the original members of one of the most iconic rock bands in OPM history — Rivermaya — met up for a much-deserved get-together.

In March of this year, Bamboo left fans almost heartbroken after he reacted to a question asking if there’s a chance for them to reunite for a show.

While Bamboo did not dismiss the idea of doing a show, he reiterated that it’s been nearly two and a half decades since he left the group.

“You have to imagine how long we’ve been away from each other and what kind of family I’ve built with the guys I’m playing with now. I’m pretty loyal to my band now,” he remarked.

The original members of Rivermaya are Perf de Castro, Bamboo, Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta, and Nathan Azarcon. Only Mark and Nathan remain as active members of the band. Perf, for one, left in 1995, followed by Bamboo three years later in 1998. Rico, on the other hand, was last to depart in 2007. Since then, Bamboo and Rico have gone on to pursue successful solo careers.
