EXO D.O. to play a villain in a series with Ji Chang-Wook?

EXO member and actor D.O., whose real name is Doh Kyungsoo, is reportedly joining an upcoming Korean drama series.

Together with Korean actor Ji Chang-Wook, Kyungsoo will be appearing as the villain in the series.

As per Joy News 24 on Naver, the singer-actor’s agency, Company Soosoo, has said, "Doh Kyungsoo has received an offer for the drama 'Sculpture City' and is positively considering it.”

The upcoming series titled Sculpture City is a bloody revenge drama in which a man who used to live an ordinary life suddenly returns from hell and falls into the abyss when his life is completely manipulated.

According to reports, Kyungsoo is said to have fallen in love with the script as soon as he read it and will be playing the role of the main villain.

The character is a designer who creates a real hell by sculpting people's lives. This would be the first time that the actor will be playing the main villain in a series. 

This will also be the first project he will be doing under his new agency after he left his previous agency of 11 years, SM Entertainment.

The 30-year-old idol previously made a special appearance in the KBS drama Remember You and showed off his creepy villain skills, making fans think that he could show a new full-fledged evil character in the new series.

Doh Kyungsoo is one of the K-pop idols who has been receiving awards and praises for their acting skills.

He debuted in 2014 movie Cart and has shown his range as an actor in movies such as 'Along with the Gods', 'Swing Kids', ‘My Annoying Brother, and his recent film ‘The Moon', for which he received the Popular Male Star Award in Buil Film Awards 2023.

He also made notable impressions with his drama series such as It’s Okay, That’s Love; EXO Next Door; 100 Days My Prince (his first time to be the leading actor in a series), and Bad Prosecutor.

He was also selected by the Korean Film Council as one of the 200 Korean actors that best represent the present and future of Korea's movie scene.

Disney plus's The Worst Evil lead star Ji Chang-Wook will play the role of the once ordinary man who falls down to hell and takes revenge on those who wronged him.

As per Spring Company, Ji Chang-Wook’s agency, the actor also received an offer and is positively reviewing it.

The series will be directed by Hard Hit director and editor Kim Chang Ju and will be written by Model City and Crime City 4 writer Oh Sang Ho.

It is also reported that the upcoming drama produced by CJ ENM Film Division. has a production cost of 35 billion won (approximately 26.4 million US dollars and more than one billion in Philippine pesos).

Filming for the revenge drama series is set to begin between July and September next year.

Meanwhile, Doh Kyungsoo is currently part of a popular tvN’s variety show GBRB: Reap What You Sow with actors Lee Kwang Soo, Kim Woo Bin, and Kim Ki Bang. 

Fans are loving a whole different side of the idol as he shows his entertainment skills with his “hyung squad”.

He also released last September his second album Expectation and officially opened his personal Instagram account.

Ji Chang-Wook, on the other hand, is gearing up for his upcoming drama Welcome to Samdalri with Korean actress Shin Hye Sun. The show is set to premiere on December 2 this year.
