Precious Pages Corporation (PPC) has released the Filipino edition of the international bestselling novel It Ends With Us by the celebrated American author Colleen Hoover.

In a media release, PPC's Foreign Rights Sales and Acquisition Manager Edith Garcia highlighted the massive fan base of the author in the different parts of the world including the Philippines.

"Colleen Hoover is currently one of the most popular authors in the US, if not, the #1 author today. Her books have been dominating bestseller lists after they were first released. She has active fan groups, including a solid fan base in the Philippines," she said.

Edith remarked that Colleen's books have widespread appeal which inspired PPC's decision to acquire its translation rights.

"[Her books] cross genres and deal with universal themes, which make them relatable to a broad audience. Since Colleen Hoover writes about real-life issues and emotions, her readers, including Filipinos, help them understand themselves better and find commonality in others," the publishing executive said.

She added: "Her universal themes resonate with people from diverse backgrounds. Her books have emotional depth, and an ability to evoke a wide range of feelings."

Released as part of PPC's "World's Bestsellers" label, the Filipino edition of Colleen Hoover's It Ends With Us had its official debut at the Manila International Book Fair in September. The paperback edition, which is bundled with a complimentary bookmark, is priced at ₱399 and is available in bookstores nationwide.

It Ends With Us was first published in 2016.

In a past interview with Longview News-Journal, Colleen shared that her parents' relationship ignited the idea for this book.

"I got the idea because of my mother’s and father’s relationship. She and he divorced when I was 2. I don’t have a lot of recollections of what they went through, but I knew that he was abusive, and I never understood how it happened because she was such a strong and independent person," she said.

"And I want to know how she got into that situation. I wanted to write the book from the perspective of my mother and how she went through it. I always say I write to entertain, I don’t write to inform or to educate. But this book was a different beast," the author added.
