Meryll Soriano is offering some insight into her family life with Joem Bascon more than two years since they welcomed their son Gideon nicknamed Gido.

In her post on Monday (October 16), the 40-year-old actress stressed the importance of going on dates and spending quality time with one another as they navigate parenthood.

“If we could date everyday, we would. Our favourite thing to do,” she said.

“We get to talk about everything without the Little Boy screaming. Toddler stage is oh-so-difficult. And, with the intense parenting of having no yaya, we take all the chance we get to escape Gido.”

She added, “We love being parents, we love being partners and we love our individuality.”

Meryll and Joem welcomed their son Gideon in December 2020. Aside from Gido, the actress also has a son named Elijah from her previous marriage to Bernard Palanca.

During the press conference of his movie The Other Wife, Joem opened up about his life as a new father. “Sobrang happy ko. Hindi ko siya ma-explain. Basta sobrang saya ko. Hindi ko naramdaman siguro 'yung pandemic, 'yung quarantine because nasa bahay lang ako and naka-focus lang kami ni Meryll sa baby namin,” he said.

“I'm just happy na nagkaroon kami ng blessing noong nangyayari 'yung kaguluhan sa buong mundo. And I guess ayon 'yung sagot namin to be strong, to be loving, sa bahay namin para mabigay namin lahat ng pangangailangan sa anak namin,” he added.

On tying the knot with Meryll, Joem said at the time, “As of now, ineenjoy lang namin 'yung time namin together with the baby. Sobrang saya lang naming dalawa na naka-focus kami kay baby.”

Meryll and Joem, who briefly dated in 2010, rekindled their romance after reuniting in the movie Culion in 2019.

In a vlog last year, Joem said he and Meryll will get married "in time" when asked about his future plans for their relationship.  

"Kapag okay na ang lahat," he said. “At isa rin 'yun, eh, kapag pinlano mo, hindi naman din nangyayari. Minsan nangyayari na lang."

Joem was part of the hit ABS-CBN series Dirty Linen, playing the role of young Alejandro Isidro (later played by Soliman Cruz).

Meanwhile, Meryll was recently seen on The Iron Heart as Juno Suárez.
