Dolly de Leon has once again made history as the first Filipino actress to earn a British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) nomination.

Aside from BAFTA, Dolly has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes, the first Filipino actress to do so.

"Hindi ako sanay sa nomination na ganito. Ang sarap! Sana mas marami pa sa atin ang makatanggap ng ganitong recognition because so many of us deserve it," she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News back in December following her Golden Globes nomination.

She also received Best Supporting Actress nominations at the London Film Critics' Circle and 2022 Satellite Awards.

Dolly also recently won the Best Supporting Performer at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association alongside Ke Huy Quan.

In Triangle of Sadness, Dolly plays the role of Abigail, a toilet cleaner on a high-end yacht who becomes the leader of a group of mega-rich passengers when they become stranded on an island.

In a past interview with PUSH, Dolly shared how she bagged the role in the film. The actress shared that auditioned for the role in the Philippines when the casting team traveled to the country.

"Nag-audition talaga ako. Lumipad sila papuntang Pilipinas, tapos, pina-arte nila sa akin 'yung tatlong eksena, na nagbibigay ako ng pagkain, 'yung hindi nila binantayan 'yung fire, at 'yung isa pang eksena ni Abigail," she said.

She added, "In-audition ko lahat 'yun, may sides, binigay lang nila ang sides o mga eksena lang, hindi ko nabasa ang script."
