On Instagram, Troy said six of Rocket’s teeth were removed, while four crowns were replaced “as well as a few filings” during the procedure that took almost four hours.

In Rocket’s case, Troy said they would end up brushing her teeth every few days as doing so daily can be quite traumatizing for their daughter.

“Once Rocket’s started her therapy, her therapist focused on desensitizing her mouth area, which you have probably seen in a few of our videos posted before. It has taken almost a year to get to where we are today,” he said.

“Thankfully, now we can brush her teeth twice a day, with no more resistance, no more holding her but the damage has already been done," he added. "Cavities have already set in and once they started to become sensitive to touch, we had no other choice but to treat them."

According to them, Rocket has some of the common symptoms of ASD, including delayed speech, no eye contact, difficulty communicating, repetitive movements (like running and flapping her hands), and a hard time controlling her emotions.
