Following the announcement of legendary OPM band Eraserhead’s upcoming reunion concert, fans took to social media to express their excitement for the highly-anticipated show.

While several fans were ecstatic about the news, there are also those who couldn’t help but point out Marcus Adoro’s inclusion in the reunion despite his past being filled with controversy.

Fans particularly raised the assault allegations against him by his former partner Barbara Ruaro as well as his own daughter syd hartha. Ruaro is an indie actress while syd hartha is a singer-songwriter.

Netizen Geloy Maligaya Concepcion, in a Facebook post, wrote: “Fan din ako ng mga kanta nila, super, sa totoo lang, kaso di ba may kaso ng pang aabuso ng babae at sariling anak niya si Marcus Adoro? May sinabi ba mga kabanda niya tungkol dun? Ano na ba nangyari dyan? Cecelebrate ba natin yan?”

“Di ba galit at hindi tayo sumusuporta sa mga magnanakaw? Kurakot? Dapat sa nang aabuso ng babae at anak ganun din eh diba? Ready ba tayong pagusapan yan? Gets ko naman, ang sakit sa ulo lalo na kung mahal mo ang musika nila. Maganda siguro ma address muna ito ng eheads,” he added.

“Stop being blinded just because we love them as a band. Marcus Adoro is CLEARLY an abuser who doesn't deserve the limelight anymore. Malala ang pinagdaanan ng anak nya under him just for us to sweep everything under the rug because he's a member of a band we love,” another fan wrote on Twitter.

syd hartha said she previously suffered at the hands of his own father.

"Sa labing limang taon ng buhay kong wala siya upang gumanap na ama sa akin, sobrang dami kong tanong tungkol sa kanya at wala na akong ibang ginusto kundi makilala yung iba ko pang mga kadugo at siyempre, malaman ang pakiramdam na makasama siyang sinasabi nilang tunay kong ama," she wrote at that time.

"Sa halos isang taong madalas ko siyang nakakausap at nakakasama, nabigyan na ng kasagutan lahat ng bitbit kong katanungan noon. Hinding hindi ko makakalimutan iba’t ibang klase ng abuso na dinanas ko sa kanya. Kaya pala ako nilalayo ng nanay ko at iba pang mga kamag-anak ko sa kanya. Kaya pala," she added.

Following the outpour of support on social media, Barbara and syd hartha took to Twitter to thank fans for the support.

“Thank you. THANK YOU. Thank you to every single person who chose not to turn a blind eye. Thank you for praying with us and for us. Thank you for making sure that we feel your massive support, whether we know each other personally or not. Justice belongs to The Lord,” Barbara wrote in her tweet.

The Eraserheads reunion concert is happening on December 22, 2022 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.
