Girl group aespa proved themselves to be worthy of being dubbed as one of the leaders of the fourth generation of K-pop as they break record after record. The girl group made history with the release of their second mini album, Girls, last July 8.

Prior to its release, aespa’s entertainment agency, SM Entertainment, announced on all of their social media platforms that the girl group managed to get 1,610,517 pre-orders for their latest album.

By achieving these high-sales numbers, aespa managed to beat the previous record of 1,028,888 set by girl group BLACKPINK with their album, The Album, released in 2020. They are now officially the record holder of having the highest number of pre-stock orders by a girl group.

Only BLACKPINK and aespa have achieved the one million mark in pre-orders of an album by a Korean girl group.

Their latest album, Girls, has a total of nine tracks which showcases the girl group’s range in their singing. The album contains ballads, electro-pop, and R&B songs which fans of aespa love for the versatility.

As of this writing, the girl group managed to get over 23 million views of their music video within less than 24 hours of it being uploaded.

SM Entertainment debuted aespa last 2020, making them the first girl group to debut in the company since Red Velvet back in 2014. The girl group consists of four members: Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning. They also have their AI counterparts called ae-Karina, ae-Winter, ae-Giselle, and ae-Ningning.

The group’s fresh and innovative concept made them a hit with fans. They are known for their hit tracks such as “Next Level,” “Black Mamba,” and “Savage” among others.
