In 2019, Matteo Guidicelli became the first celebrity civilian to graduate from the Philippine Army’s Scout Ranger orientation course which was held in Camp Tecson in Bulacan. During that time, the 32-year-old actor and athlete shared in various interviews what an incredible life-changing experience the month-long training course to become one of the Army’s elite forces was for him.

Last May 18, Matteo looked back on his training days when he was only allowed limited contact with his family members including his younger brother Paolo and then Sarah Geronimo whom he married in the year following his graduation from the course. In the post, Matteo shared some snapshots from their short visit to him in the camp.

Matteo wrote, “Bumped into material from few years back when I was in Ranger school. I clearly remember this day when @pguidicelli and @justsarahgph were in my arms. I didn’t want to let go, knowing I only had a few minutes with them. Trying my best not to be too emotional. I was in Ranger training for almost 45 days and it was an emotional roller coaster!

“My snappy salute and respects to all soldiers for the selfless service for our beloved country. And of course to their families for the sacrifice and support. Mabuhay kayo! ”

During his grueling scout ranger training course, Matteo revealed that he lost around 10 to 15 pounds during his 30-day stay at the camp. Among his batch, Matteo also received the highest marks. Ever since becoming a reservist, Matteo has helped the Philippine Army in their various projects. In his vlog, Matteo shared what lessons he learned during while staying in the camp.
