After filing her official application form for this year’s Binibining Pilipinas pageant, Herlene “Hipon Girl” Budol shared another update on her plans for joining the national pageant with her social media followers last April 11, Monday. The 22-year-old student posted a screenshot of a headline from ABS-CBN news quoting her as saying, “Naiyak ako kasi hindi ko naintindihan yung English nila,” in relation to the interview questions asked during her application day.

Herlene confirmed saying the quote and added that she is not ashamed to say that the English language is her weakness. She wrote, “Nabasa ko lang po eto sa isang pageant group. Opo, hindi ko po eto ikahihiya naiyak ako dahil sa English. but it doesn’t mean hanggang dyan nalang si Hipon girl nyo. Hindi ko pipilitin ang mag-Ingles. Wikang Filipino po ang gagamitin ko.”
