Park Seo-joon remarked that he was totally in awe when he was contacted to be part of Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels.

In an interview with The Guardian, the South Korean actor said, "When I first heard that the Marvel Cinematic Universe wanted to speak with me, I couldn’t believe it. I actually couldn’t believe it."

Seo-joon shared that though filming in general is challenging, the warmth of the Marvel team helped him adjust to his new role immediately.

"I’m not someone who has a fear of challenges, but whether I am filming in South Korea or abroad, everything is a challenge for me. So, I did feel some nerves at first. But everyone was so helpful and welcoming that I was able to find my feet really quickly," he stated.

It was on September 3 of last year when Seo-joon's agency Awesome ENT confirmed the K-Drama star's participation in the sequel of Captain Marvel.

"We thank the many people who have shown interest and support for Park Seo-joon as he takes on this new challenge," the agency said in a statement.

"We are well aware that many people are curious about the name of the film in which he will be appearing, his character, the filming location, and his filming schedule, but we plan to reveal the details of the movie at a later date," Awesome ENT added.

The K-Drama star will be the third Korean actor to star in a Marvel movie following Claudia Kim from the film Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ma Dong Seok from the movie Eternals.

Aside from Captain Marvel 2, Seo-joon is set to star in an upcoming South Korean film alongside IU titled Dream.

After he recovered from COVID-19 recently, the actor traveled to Hungary to resume shooting for the said movie.

Seo-joon rose to popularity with his hit Korean series like Itaewon Class, Fight for My Way, and Hwarang, among others.
