Jada Pinkett-Smith, the wife of Will Smith, has left a few powerful words in the midst of the controversy involving the actor and comedian Chris Rock at the recently-concluded Academy Awards.

Jada’s Instagram post, which talks about healing, is the first-ever “statement” she has made following the slapping incident that ensued the Academy Awards.

“This is a season for healing and I’m here for it,” the photo Jada shared on Instagram read.

It can be recalled that Will Smith smacked Chris Rock in the face after the latter made a joke about Jada who has been suffering from alopecia.

The actress’s condition resulted in her losing her hair and having bald spots.

“Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me,” Chris reacted after Will slapped him. “Keep my wife’s name out your f**king mouth,” Will responded and repeated the words again.

During his speech at the Oscars for winning Best Actor for his role as the father of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams in the film King Richard, Will apologized to the Academy but not to Chris.

“The Academy has since does not condone violence of any form,” the Oscars said in a tweet.

"Tonight we are delighted to celebrate our 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world,” it added.

But it didn’t take long before Will issued a public apology.

"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness," Will wrote in a post he shared on social media.

Will ended his post by saying he is “a work in progress.”
