Jeon Jungkook, the youngest member of the South Korean boy group BTS, has tested positive for COVID-19, his agency Big Hit Music confirmed in a statement on Tuesday, March 29.

Jungkook was the only BTS member who did not test positive for COVID-19 before this incident.

Big Hit released a statement via the WeVerse app, saying Jungkook tested positive on both rapid and RT-PCR tests.

Apparently, the 24-year-old artist took the test after having felt “a slight discomfort in his throat” upon his arrival in the United States. He is currently in Las Vegas.

Then again, Jungkook is not exhibiting any symptoms related to COVID-19 apart from a sore throat.

Big Hit also said Jungkook is following the guidelines of health authorities and is currently “under self-quarantine and treatment.”

Jungkook, who arrived in the US to prepare for his appearance at the Grammy Awards alongside other members of BTS, was also scheduled to do shows in Las Vegas.

But his appearance in the Grammys remains uncertain following his COVID-19 diagnosis.
