Another member of the popular Korean boy band BTS has been infected with the novel coronavirus.

In a statement released on Weverse, record label Big Hit Music announced that Kim Tae-hyung, who is also known by his stage name V, has tested positive for COVID-19.

"V visited the hospital Tuesday afternoon on the 15th after experiencing a mild sore throat and took the PCR test. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 tonight," it said.

The agency added that V has been vaccinated against COVID-19 and thus is not presenting any severe symptoms. Currently, he is undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further instruction from health care authorities.

In the statement, Big Hit said that prior to taking the test, V had come in contact with the other members of BTS, "but everyone was wearing a mask, and there was no close contact." They said that none of the members aside from V are presenting any symptoms, and everyone also tested negative from COVID-19.

"The company places the artists' health as our top priority and we will do everything we can to aid V in his speedy recovery," assured the agency. "We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of health care authorities."

Earlier, three other members of BTS were also infected by COVID-19 — RM, Jin, and SUGA.

In the Philippines, there are currently 72,305 active cases of COVID-19, 2,010 of which were recorded just on Tuesday, February 15.
