Dingdong Dantes added another feather to his cap after he was named an honorary member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 2000, he announced over the weekend.

On Instagram, the actor uploaded photos taken from his oathtaking ceremony with the PMA Sanghaya Class 2000 held last Friday, December 2.

“Courage. Integrity. Loyalty. Growing up in a family of service men; it had always been the goal for me to enter military school after high school. God had different plans for me back then, but still led me to espouse these values, regardless of destination. Values which I hold sacred and now share with no less than the PMA Class 2000 ‘SANGHAYA,’” Dingdong wrote.

“I am humbled to be accepted as its honorary member. Hooorah!” he added.

Dingdong, 42, is already a lieutenant commander of the Philippine Navy.

He first trained to become a reservist for the Philippine Marines back in 2006. He then re-enlisted in the Philippine Navy in 2017 with the rank of master sergeant, according to a report by Rappler.

Just recently, Dingdong announced that he is working on a new big-screen project with veteran actress Charo Santos-Concio.

The two will join forces in Love After Love by award-winning filmmaker Irene Villamor, who is best known for her work in films Ulan, Everything About Her, Meet Me in St. Gallen, and On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets.

Charo said that the movie has been “three years in the making.” Dingdong, on the other hand, confirmed that filming for the project will begin sometime next year.
