Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda recently gave in and joined the latest trend by submitting his photo in an app that would create AI avatars of him.  

The AI app claims to “make photos look spectacular” and “make selfies look perfect” through the use of various styles and special effects. Through its Magic Avatar feature, portraits are transformed into digital artworks which are variations of unique avatars.

Chito wasn’t quite convinced.

He shared his results on his Instagram account and had his friends and followers laughing.

“Ay...bakit ganun? Parang di sulit yung binayad ko sa app?,” Chito commented in jest.

Some joked that Chito might have purchased a pirated version, while some shared Chito’s humor.

“Muntikan ko na sabihin get well soon,” Kapamilya actor Joross Gamboa teased him.

A couple of days later, Chito tried again. This time, he included his wife’s photos in his post.

People were all praising Neri Naig - Miranda’s beauty which still remained even through digital artwork.

“Ayun!!!!!!!! It finally worked,” commented Gary Valenciano, whom Chito worked alongside with on Idol Philippines Season 2.

“On Neri,” Gary was quick to add.

Mr. Pure Energy did concede that this batch of photos presented Chito in a better light.

“In fairness….nice the first pic of you Chito!!!!,” he said.

Some local personalities have also tried the app, such as Gary’s daughter-in-law, photographer, and graphic designer Samantha Godinez - Valenciano.

Supermodel Joey Mead-King also tried it out. Her partner Angie King praised all versions of Joey.

“They all look good,” she said.
