Celebrity influencer Kryz Uy was quick to deny the rumors about her supposedly having generational wealth circulating on social media.

She and her husband, Slater Young, addressed the issue on their podcast, Sky Podcast.

The influencer said that the rumors might have started making rounds online following an Instagram story of hers about the dog her son wanted her to buy for himself.

“So Scottie and I went dog shopping. One time we were driving, and he really forced me to go down. So we went to this dog store, and he fell in love with all the dogs there, particularly this teacup shih tzu puppy that was P230,000. It was so expensive and Scottie kept bugging me to buy it,” she shared.

Kryz went on to share that she thinks netizens might have misunderstood her Instagram story. Kryz said she felt the need to clarify the speculations on their podcast. Her name trended on social media platforms such as TikTok and Twitter, wherein netizens shared how they want to be like Kryz Uy and have her so-called “generational wealth.”

“A lot of people misinterpreted it and thought I bought the dog, 230,000? I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I asked [my editors], ‘What's happening? Bat akala ng mga tao may generational wealth ako?’ she clarified.

The 32-year-old mother also revealed that she didn’t buy the dog for her son, saying she she couldn’t afford the price.

Kryz also cleared up the rumors that she owns different large businesses in Cebu where the couple resides. She said her cousins are the ones that own businesses in Cebu.

Although she doesn’t have generational wealth, Kryz said she feels grateful for everyone who feel inspired by her.
