As part of the upcoming new iWantTFC original series Love Beneath the Stars, Agot Isidro explained how her role as the mom of Dominic (Adrian Lindayag) is played out in the series.

“Hindi naman ako kontrabida. Ako lang siguro nag-re-represent dun sa mga close-minded na mommy. Yung traditional, makitid ang ano, yung hindi sila sanay siguro na ganun. Tapos meron silang parang mga hinahangad para sa kanilang mga anak. Meron na silang idea na yung anak ko gusto ko ganito. So pag hindi nangyari parang gumuguho yung mundo nila tapos parang they take it against the child. Na-set na yung mind niya na ganun si Dominic tapos parang siyang tiger mom, yung kailangan achiever, kailangan number one. Yung may ganung pressure. Maraming ganun eh. So sana makita nila na huwag namang i-pressure yung mga anak ng ganun,” she said.

Even if she is not yet a mother in real life, Agot explained why her reaction to a loved one coming out would not be the same.

“Actually okay lang sa akin. I have three brothers but two of them are gay. And my parents are so open and nung nag-out yung isa sabi ng parents ko, ‘Alam naman namin yan.’ So parang there was no need for them to be formally coming out. So ako cool na cool ako diyan. At saka I have a lot of friends from the LGBT community and I love them all,” she said.

For those who are eager to catch the series which is a sequel to the Metro Manila Film Festival entry The Boy Foretold By The Stars, Agot said there are a lot of lessons in their show.

“Respect for yourself, fight for what you want and for who you are, be proud of who you are. Respeto lang yan eh. Respeto sa kapwa, sa choices ng lahat. Kasi it’s your right to be who you are and just stand up for it and love yourself. Makikita naman yan later on ng mga tao. Kung rinespeto mo ang sarili mo rerespetuhin ka nila,” she added.

Love Beneath the Stars is written and directed by Dolly Dulu. It stars Adrian Lindayag, Keann Johnson, Nikki Valdez, Agot Isidro, Romnick Sarmenta, Victor Silayan, and Iyah Mina. The iWantTFC original series will have six episodes with a new episode coming out every Monday starting August 16.
