After celebrating Kaori Oinuma’s 21st birthday together last week, Star Magic actor Rhys Miguel shared the story behind driving her all the way to see their He’s Into Her billboard up close.

“Kumakain lang kami ng mga gifts na bigay ng mga KaoRhys fans sa kanya for her birthday, mga sushi, mga cakes and stuff, tapos napaisip namin baka mawawala yung billboard soon na so we thought to go and see it na. Kahit maulan, kahit medyo madilim na, nag-decide kami na pupuntahan namin yung billboard. So ayun,” he shared during the He’s Into Her finale blogcon.

Rhys first met Kaori inside the Pinoy Big Brother house where they became housemates in 2018. Last year, they were first paired together onscreen in the digital series The Four Bad Boys and Me which was followed by them becoming an official love team KaoRhys He’s into Her this year. Rhys credited their fans for helping make them successful as an onscreen couple.

“Super out of the ballpark talaga yung support ng mga fans. Not just yung mga KaoRhys fans but yung mga HIH (He’s Into Her) fans talaga. Lagi trending, lagi everything yung ginagawa nila talaga. Pero to do a billboard super laking bagay talaga yan. I’m super grateful talaga sa mga fans and yan din yung first time na nakita ni Kaori. Seeing Kaori’s face din, ang cute niya,” he said.

While doing their scenes together in He’s Into Her, Rhys admitted the ‘kilig’ between them was real. “Wala namang kilig na scene na hindi totoo yung kilig ko. Pati sabi ni direk isang beses na I’m the one trying to make her kilig pero ako yung kinilig tapos yung smile ko nasobrahan daw. Hindi ko pipipigilan, hindi ko kaya minsan (laughs),” he revealed.

With the teen-oriented series reaching its finale, Rhys said what he will miss most about He’s into Her are the people on the show. “Nagkaroon ako ng lifelong na friends, lifelong na family talaga. So yun yung pinaka favorite part ko ng He’s Into Her,” he added.

Rhys and Kaori are set to star in the upcoming film Love At First Stream along with Daniela Stranner and Anthony Jennings. The Star Cinema and Kumu production will be directed by One More Chance and A Very Special Love director Cathy-Garcia Molina.
