Fans might see South Korean actor So Ji-sub's return to television soon as reports about an offer for him to star in his first drama in four years surfaced online on Wednesday, May 26.

According to an exclusive report from Daily Sports, a source from Ji-sub’s agency 51K announced his casting in a new drama called Doctor Lawyer.

“It’s one of the projects he has received an offer for,” the source from the agency said, as translated by Korean entertainment site Soompi.

The drama will reportedly follow the story of “a genius surgeon who becomes a medical malpractice lawyer after losing everything from a fabricated surgery and a prosecutor from the Medical Crimes Department.”

While there is no definite release date yet, Doctor Lawyer is slated for a 2022 airing with Jang Hong-chul of the drama Mr. Temporary taking on writer’s duties.

So Ji-sub is known for his television roles in the mid-2000s particularly the dramas What Happened in Bali, I’m Sorry I Love You, and Cain and Abel. He also starred in the drama Oh My Venus alongside Shin Min-a in 2015. Apart from being an actor, he also ventured into music and book writing.
