After working on projects like the series A Love to Last and movies like Bliss and Ilawod, Iza Calzado said she couldn’t be happier to be reunited with Ian Veneracion after four years of not working together.

“No adjustments. It never felt like we were apart. I always just felt his energy was there. That’s how I feel about Ian. To be reunited in this project, it’s actually just being us in real life except of course, we don’t say these romantic things to each other. But it’s us being us. No adjustment at all. We were having so much fun,” she shared.

Playing the role of bed and breakfast owner Brandy in B&B: The Story Of The Battle of Brody and Brandy who ends up in a love-hate relationship with handsome businessman Brody (played by Ian) in the series, Iza said their chemistry onscreen has always been natural.

“He brings out a lot of sides of me. Totoo kasi mapa-drama, mapa-horror, nag-psycho thriller din kami. Parang feeling ko it’s always like a meeting of minds and hearts whenever we do a scene, we’re just on the same page, parang ganun,” she explained.

Having fulfilled her dream of doing a romantic comedy series after two decades in showbiz, Iza said the role envisioned for her by director Mark Reyes came at just the right time.

“I’ve been wanting to do something light talaga. It was a dream and I never even saw it coming. And to do it with Ian parang talagang perfect. Parang the stars aligned and he’s the best choice for best actor and scene partner for me to be able to pull this off. It had to be Ian. It’s always been Ian, charot! (laughs)” she added.

Even with the current pandemic forcing their production to do lock-in taping, Iza says their schedule went smoothly.

We were only together for six days pero feeling ko nag-bond kasi siguro maganda yung energy sa set. Going inside the taping bubble, I know na kailangan prepared ka kasi I’ve been taping a teleserye. So I really had to make sure that I knew my lines, especially the Ilongga words,” she said.
