Nice Print Photography released on Friday, March 26, the engagement video of celebrity couple Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana.

The three-minute video, uploaded on their YouTube channel, showed the highlights of Tom's surprise proposal for Carla, which was held last October in her parents' home.

According to Tom, it was Carla's mother's idea to hold the surprise proposal in her house.

"Ang dami kong ideas no'n na public," the actor revealed as he and Carla recalled their engagement in their newest vlog.

"Buti na lang, when I approached tita to get her consent, to talk to her, she said then—and it was a very good idea that I agreed with them, kasi I wanted to make it really special—'Why not just have it just us at my house?'"

"And I would've preferred it that way talaga kasi ayaw ko nung... alam mo 'yung big event, publicized," Carla, for her part, said. "Alam mo 'yun, ang daming 'di ko kilala, ang daming tao. Ayaw ko nang ganun. Buti na lang 'di niya ginawa. And it was made even more special because Tom's family was there virtually, via Zoom."

Tom said he planned to pop the big question to Carla months earlier, in January 2020.

"I told my family last time I was in the States before the pandemic na magpo-propose na 'ko," he said. "That was the plan talaga. I reached out pa to Christian Bautista to help me find this jeweler for the ring."

Recalling the moment Tom knelt down in front of her and asked her hand in marriage, Carla said: "While proposing, wala akong naintindihan sa sinabi niya. I really didn't understand anything. My sister once said na parang magi-space out ka. Wala kang maririnig, parang ganun. Totoo pala 'yun."

"I was more in disbelief more than anything. Parang ito na 'yun, ito na talaga 'yun! You really feel overwhelmed and emotional on the spot talaga," she added.

The couple ended the video by thanking those who congratulated them on the milestone.

"Thank you so much to everybody who has messaged us, who texted us or called us to congratulate us. Most especially to our loved ones, our family, who have not just helped us with the proposal but who have been there with us throughout the relationship," said Carla.

"To all of you as well who've been there to love and support us. We're happy to be able to share this with you as well," Tom added.

It was last March 21 when Tom, 33, and Carla, 34, shared the exciting news that they're now engaged.
