Andre Brouillette felt the need to speak up after some of his friends were dragged into his split with onscreen partner and girlfriend of two years, Lou Yanong.

Andre came to the defense of his friends amid what he referred to as "constant hateful messages" in a statement he posted on social media Tuesday, February 9.

"I try to avoid posting things like this, but the bashing is getting out of hand towards my friends. These people are innocent and don't deserve any of these constant hateful messages," he said.

He then mentioned a certain Sara whom he described as a "friend of mine who literally hasn't done anything" and "did absolutely nothing to deserve any bashing."

"The untruthful things that people say are hurtful towards innocent people. Especially when it's absolutely lies," he continued. "So I ask to please leave her alone, and all my friends for that matter. Thank you."

For her part, Lou also cleared "Sara" from the accusations that she was involved in her breakup with Andre via a series of tweets.

"You need to stop this right now. Sara didn't do anything. If anything, she's the sweetest. You can't make me hate her because she didn't even do anything. Stop harassing her and sending her all these nasty stuff," said Lou.

"You can't blame anyone else but me and Andre. Stop including other people. Where is the respect," she also wrote.

Andre and Lou, both 23, confirmed their breakup last month through a statement posted by the former on Instagram, which was then shared by the latter on her own page.

“I’m saddened to say this but recently, Lou and I have come to a mutual understanding to move on from being a couple," said Andre in his statement.

"We realize we’re going on different journeys in our lives and no matter how hard we tried to make it work, it isn’t meant to be," he continued. "The truth is we do care for each other and always will. She is such a big part of my life, and I am ultimately so thankful to God to have her in my life. She is my best friend, and I will always support her.”

Andre and Lou first met as housemates in the "Otso" edition of reality show Pinoy Big Brother in 2018.

Addressing their loyal fans, Andre went on: “Thank you to everyone for being so supportive to us along the way. We really did try out best, and it saddens us for it to come to this realization.

“Your love and support helped us keep going countless times. We owe it to you guys to be honest about this. We love you all dearly, and don't want you to be sad. We [will] still be in each other's lives forever as friends."
