Barbie Imperial took to social media on Monday, February 1, to denounce a circulating photo of her which was edited to make her appear naked.

On her Instagram page, the actress re-posted the original photo, which she first uploaded in March 2020. It shows her sporting a neon bikini while on a beach vacation in San Juan, La Union.

"Reposting this photo because people are messaging me about this photo (2nd photo). Grabe, sobrang stupid naman. You really think I’ll post a photo like this?" she wrote in the caption.

Itigil nyo na, wala kayong ambag," she added.

Barbie's post comes after a photo of her fellow actresses Sue Ramirez and Maris Racal, also doctored to make both of them look naked, circulated online.

Reacting to the fake nude photo on Twitter, Maris said: "Kung sino man ang nag-edit nun, wala kang utak.

"Ewan ko ba kung anong dahilan at pinuputakte niyo kami ng ganito," Sue, for her part, said.

Umayos kayo.”

“At 'wag tanga pls.

In a statement, ABS-CBN's Star Magic—the talent agency handling Sue, Mariz, and Barbie—said it intends to pursue legal action against those who continue to spread the fake image.

"ABS-CBN and Star Magic condemn the act of illegally manipulating photos of celebrities or anyone, which is a form of gender-based online sexual harassment under RA 11313 or The Safe Speaces Act," the statement added.

"We would like to appeal to everyone to stop sharing these fake photos... Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, even on social media," it said.
