Claudia Barretto has signed a deal to be part of Viva Artists Agency.

The music newcomer, who was formerly part of Cornerstone Entertainment, was officially launched on Wednesday, January 20, as the newest artist of the local talent agency.

"It's pretty simple. It's just I think we're very compatible and I'm very hopeful and excited to work with Viva more closely," Claudia said, when asked what inspired her big move during the online media conference welcoming her as a Viva talent.

"I just kept thinking that with this partnership in mind, I will really be able to produce the work that I want to achieve. So, in light of this new partnership, I really think that I'll just be more mobile, like I'll be able to move more and do more of what I love," she added.

With her transfer to Viva, Claudia—who now joins her sister, actress Julia Barretto—feels she’s opening doors to different kinds of opportunities.

"I never say never," she said. "But, of course, my passion still lies in music and I want more of what I do to have something to do with music. But I think what's most different right now is that I'm really just going to work hard to improve my performances, my music, the way I express myself. It's all about improvement for me and I think Viva is a very good fit. I'm just so excited. I'm so excited."

As to whether she's open to do acting projects, Claudia said: "Let's see! Wherever life takes me. If the opportunity comes and I'm prepared, maybe I'll give it a shot. But if not, I'm also okay just doing whatever it is that I feel called to do."

Claudia, 21, entered showbiz as a recording artist in 2017. A year later, she released her self-titled debut EP—which includes her hit singles "Finally Found It," "Stay," and "You"—under Universal Records.

Last December, Claudia launched her second EP titled Conflicted, composed of four tracks, namely, "Conflicted," "Ode To You," "Adeline," and "Head/Heart" featuring Jason Dhakal.

Apart from singing, Claudia is also a staunch mental health advocate. Last year, she partnered with Mental Health PH to launch an online-based campaign dubbed "MINDGAMES" that focuses on utilizing various forms of art and media to promote awareness and inclusivity among Filipino youth on mental illness.
