After being part of the Kapamilya primetime series Make It With You earlier this year, it looks like model-beauty queen-turned-actress Katarina Rodriguez is turning into a certified island girl after spending quarantine in Siargao island along with her non-showbiz boyfriend Nino Barbers.
After being part of the Kapamilya primetime series Make It With You earlier this year, it looks like model-beauty queen-turned-actress Katarina Rodriguez is turning into a certified island girl after spending quarantine in Siargao island along with her non-showbiz boyfriend Nino Barbers.
On her Instagram account last September 6, Katarina wrote, “I’ve officially been living in Siargao for 6 months straight today! I remember four years ago I promised myself I would live by the beach for a few months after pageantry. Though the circumstances are not ideal in how it has happened, I am nothing but grateful for my home here on the island. I have only happiness in my heart because of the friendships I have strengthened (both near and far), the little goals I’ve achieved for myself, all the new things I’ve learned, waking up to the ocean every morning, ending my days to the crazy colors of the sky, the sunshine, stars, all the phases of the moon and of course my island boy @ninobarbers for without you I wouldn’t smile the way I do ”

Before officially entering local showbiz, the 28-year-old Fil-American model joined the second season of Asia’s Next Top Model where she finished runner up in 2014. She joined the Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2017 where she ended up representing the country in the Miss Intercontinental pageant in Egypt the following year. In 2018, she won the title of Miss World Philippines. Earlier this year, she played the role of Rio Isla, Enrique Gil’s longtime friend in Make It With You until the series was officially cancelled last June.
