Pumirma na ng kontrata sa TV5 nitong Biyernes, September 11, ang beteranong broadcaster na si Ted Failon. Ted is excited to return on air as he primes for his much-awaited debut this month with a new program over Radyo 5, ang FM news station ng TV5.

Failon will anchor the four-hour morning news magazine program kasama si Czarina Marie Guevara o mas kilala bilang si DJ ChaCha na radio partner niya noon sa Failon Ngayon ng DZMM.

Ani Ted, “We are excited to deliver a paradigm shift on FM Radio. And we are thankful that Radyo 5 will give us the opportunity to serve the people with this one-of-a-kind format.”

“Maraming, maraming salamat po sa sa pagkakataon na ito. At sa lahat ng aming mga tagapakinig, mas gaganda ang inyong umaga dahil malapit nang mabago ang tunog ng FM Radio,” dagdag pa niya.

Tatlong dekadang naging bahagi ng ABS-CBN at DZMM si Ted. Sa 30 taon ng kanyang pagiging broadcast journalist ay nakatanggap din siya ng maraming parangal at pagkilala katulad na lang ng Best AM Radio Announcer and Best TV News Anchor (sa TV Patrol).

He is also the recipient of multiple Hall of Fame awards from organizations such as Anak TV and ComGuild Center for Journalism, while his radio program Failon Ngayon is the only Catholic Mass Media Awards Hall of Fame awardee for Best News Commentary.

He was also awarded the prestigious Ka Doroy Broadcaster of the Year by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster Sa Pilipinas.

On the other hand, DJ Chacha has been hailed as the Queen of FM Radio with her own 12-year decorated career as a top DJ of MOR 101.9 FM and social media influencer.

Meanwhile, the ABS-CBN management thanked Failon for his years of service with the broadcast giant, which seized free TV and radio operations after failing to secure a new franchise from Congress.
