They are now husband and wife but Maxene Magalona and Rob Mananquil still celebrated their fifth anniversary as a couple over the weekend.

After more than 4 months of #yogaeveryday with zero spa treatments, we felt that it was safe enough to spend a day pampering ourselves with some much-needed self-care and self-love. We discovered this lovely place @bamboobalispa located just 5 minutes from @radiantlyaliveyoga in Ubud and saw that they currently have a promo of 15% discount for all of their massage treatments! 🙏🏼 We went all out with a 90-minute deep tissue massage AND a 60-minute natural facial! 😅🤣 The last time we had facials was back in February in Manila so this was surely a treat! 🥳 They use only natural products such as coconut oil for their massage treatments and a coffee exfoliating scrub plus cacao face mask for their natural facials! 👌🏼 They even gave my hair a cute braid after our treatments 🥺😭😍 It was honestly one of the best days we’ve had here and I just want to show our gratitude for the little things so that we can remember never to take anything for granted ✨ #RobMaxxBali

The two exchanged sweet words on social media as they marked the special occasion.

Posting a photo of herself with Rob taken during their trip to El Nido, Palawan where they officially became a couple, Maxene wrote: “As I painfully remember, I got blackout drunk during this trip and experienced an emotional episode of rage which I projected onto him but had very little recollection of the day after. He explained to me what happened while I sobbed uncontrollably and asked him for forgiveness. At that time, neither of us understood what had happened but it was the first of many unattractive and embarrassing ‘adult tantrums’ that I would later on keep having over the course of our relationship. I would get triggered by the smallest things, explode with repressed emotions, unconsciously project them onto him and sincerely apologize once I’ve calmed down. It turned into a vicious cycle that eventually made me feel so much disgust and disappointment towards myself until I finally took his advice to seek professional help.”

This photo was taken 5 years ago on a trip to El Nido, Palawan when @robmananquil officially asked me to be his girlfriend 🥺🥰 As I painfully remember, I got blackout drunk during this trip and experienced an emotional episode of rage which I projected onto him but had very little recollection of the day after. He explained to me what happened while I sobbed uncontrollably and asked him for forgiveness. At that time, neither of us understood what had happened but it was the first of many unattractive and embarrassing “adult tantrums” that I would later on keep having over the course of our relationship. I would get triggered by the smallest things, explode with repressed emotions, unconsciously project them onto him and sincerely apologize once I’ve calmed down. It turned into a vicious cycle that eventually made me feel so much disgust and disappointment towards myself until I finally took his advice to seek professional help. Had it not been for his unconditional love and seemingly endless patience, I honestly believe that I would still be the lost, egotistical and traumatized person that I used to be. These last 5 years have been the most eye-opening, heart softening and soul awakening time of my life. Ever since this rare soul blessed me with his love and devotion, I have been forever changed. Happy anniversary, @robmananquil! I’m sorry and I love you. Always, everyday ✨ #iROByouveryMAXX #MagalonaMananquil

Had it not been for Rob’s “unconditional love” and “seemingly endless patience”, Maxene said that she might still be the “lost, egotistical and traumatized person” that she used to be.

For his part, Rob said that “every day, each minute, is a grateful moment” with Maxene.

There is only one secret to life. Free yourself of all fears. Don’t be anxious about your future and don’t cry over your past.💫 . . The unpredictability in life is the reason for grief. When we bury the hatchet and forget all the bitterness, life becomes easy and we can bring peace into our lives.🕊♾🤍 . . We need to unlearn generations of Harm and remember Love. Love is the KEY we forgot about; that really is the ONE that can unlock our true happiness. It’s never too late, to be in tune with ourselves✨🙏🏻♥️ . . Happy Anniversary, my love. Everyday, each minute, is a grateful moment with you💫 @maxenemagalona . . 📸: @sweet.escape Bumbag by: #aldoph #live #each #moment #present #gift #life #release #past #embrace #now #letgo #old #energy #cultivate #peace #happiness #joy #abundance #blessings #grateful #soul #namaste #om #shanti #mayallbeingbehappyandfree #robmaxxyoga #robthankstothemaxx #loveinthetimeofcorona #2020

Maxene and Rob have been married for two years.

They tied the knot in a beach wedding in Boracay on January 11, 2018, less than a year after they got engaged in Japan.

In an Instagram post last week, Maxene—who had been diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), a psychological disorder, she explained, brought about by prolonged and repeated interpersonal trauma—credited Rob and his family for being the inspiration behind her “healing and transformation.”

“I owe so much of my healing and transformation to my husband and his family who have done nothing but love and accept me ever since the day they met me,” she said.

“Because of their unconditional love and support, I was able to find the courage to fight and stand up against my inner demons. No man is an island and I really believe it’s so important for people, especially those with mental health issues, to have a healthy support group,” she added.
