Crash Landing on You star Lee Shin Young will be back on the small screen with the upcoming webtoon-based series How to Buy a Friend. He landed one of the lead roles in the show.

In a report by entertainment website Soompi, Shin Young shared that he will be portraying the character of Park Chan Hong, an average high school student.

“Since the standard of ‘ordinary’ is different from person to person, I am constantly studying my character and thinking about [how to portray him]," he stated in his recent interview according to Soompi.

In preparation for his role, Shin Young shared that he is now studying how the students of the Gyeongsang Province speak.

“Unlike the original webtoon, Park Chan Hong uses a dialect from Gyeongsang Province. I’m from the same area, so it’s not awkward to use a dialect, but I’m trying to speak more like the students in Gyeongsang Province to seem more natural. In the webtoon, Park Chan Hong tries to hide his feelings, but instead of following the original work, I’m trying to express more realistic emotions," he relayed.

Shin Young also relayed that he has been working hand in hand with his co-stars (Heo Don Hyuk) Shin Seung Ho, and Kim So Hye (Uhm Se Yoon.)

“I always share ideas with the actors in every scene and discuss how to make it more fun," he stated.

The series will premiere on April 6 in Korea.
