Two members of the OPM group Ex Battalion — Flow G and Skusta Clee — are currently in hot water for allegedly plagiarizing one of the songs of international South Korean superstars BTS.

On Twitter, several fans called out Flow G and Skusta Clee for deliberately copying the rhythm in the rap line of the song “Ddaeng” by BTS members RM, Suga, and J-Hope in a song released back in September. Titled “Deym,” the song was released to promote a local clothing brand.

One netizen wrote: “Skusta Clee the biggest clown in music industry. Lol. Last year you used the beat of BIGBANG's ‘Bad boy’ now it's BTS’s ‘Ddaeng’. Wews. I respect all the local artist who creates their own music but sadly u are not an artist.”

Another netizen mentioned Big Hit Entertainment — the group’s agency — and wrote:

Some fans even shared side by side clips of the music videos produced by the two parties to show the apparent similarities between the two songs.

Following the backlash, Skusta Clee apologized to fans but fans deemed it insincere — prompting fans to make #SkustaCleeIsGoingToJailParty trend on Twitter.

“Hindi naman namin ginaya yon oy. Hiniram lang namin ‘yung beat vibe,” he wrote.

He wrote in another tweet: “Yeah hello BTS blinks. This is Skusta Clee. I would like to apologize in behalf of my team. I hope you forgive us all. Just please don’t focus on us. Focus on [the] coronavirus. Always wash your hands everyone. Peace out.”

He added: “Wag niyo na po palakihin ang pangyayari.”

With several fans certain determined to make the two artists accountable, Skusta Clee decided to go private on Twitter where he has more than 757,000 followers.

Meanwhile, Flow G — whose real name is Archie Dela Cruz — took to Facebook to address the issue

“Gumamit ako ng ‘generic flow’, ‘generic words’, at ‘generic beat’ na pinagawa ko kay Flip-D para sa promotion video ng sarili kong brand. Sorry sa mga fans na ibang klase sumuporta sa mga idolo nila. Di ko kayo masisisi kung anong pumapasok sa isip nyo. Wag kayo mag alala naiintindihan ko kayo. Sana lahat ng taga hanga ganyan sumuporta,” he said.

Seemingly unbothered, he added by promoting his brand and stated: “At nagpost din po ako tungkol dito para din sa promotion ng brand. Bili na po kayo damit na malupit DEYM.”

In the comments section, he left a comment to BTS fans and said: “Hindi ako fan ng BTS at mas lalong hindi ako HATER. kaya yung mga comments against sa kanila hindi ko yan kailangan dito. Labas na ko jan sa mga nararamdaman niyo.”
