With her baby daughter scheduled to arrive within the next few weeks, Dani Barretto-Panlilio revealed her biggest worry for her first child. “Nung bata ako lagi akong nasa derma, laging tini-tingnan yung mga alle-allergy ko sa katawan, ganun. Sana hindi yun pagdaanan ng baby ko. Since I have eczema and na-discover ko na baka makuha ng baby yung eczema ko. But if yun ang mangyari, I will try to find the best dermatologist for her para naman hindi ma-stuck sa kanya yung allergies na ganun. And one thing I learned from my mom is prevention is better than cure so kung kaya mo na i-prevent ngayon i-prevent mo na. Huwag mo ng antayan na kailangan mo pang agapan,” she shared during the Cetaphil National Healthy Skin Mission event launch in Makati City.

As the eldest daughter of Marjorie Barretto, Dani said her relationship with her mom has deepened since her pregnancy. “My mom kasi had five kids so she’s like the expert on this na. My mom and I have never been so close to be honest. I call her everyday for everything kahit puwede ko naman i-solve on my own, kailangan 100% sure ako na tama yung ginagawa ko. So I always call her and ask kung anong product ang puwede. She’s very hands on also and very supportive. I’m very, very blessed and very lucky that I have a mom that’s on call all the time, no matter what time of the day. Minsan may topak ako tatawag ako ng 12 am to say, ‘Mom ang sakit ng ganito ko, anong gagawin ko?’ Tapos alam niya lahat. Always may sagot. I hope I get as close as kung paano kami pinalaki ng nanay ko, matapatan ko kahit konti,” she said.

Even on her social media accounts, Dani said she has always been open and transparent about her skin condition and has been giving advice online. “Like with my followers and subscribers, I’ve always been open about it. So they always ask for advice on products for my skin. I advise them that they always need to consult a dermatologist first,” she said.
