It was in 2018 when Jake revealed that he and his then-girlfriend have taken their relationship to the next level when he finally popped the question and Shyre, of course, answered yes. Though the two have yet to exchange “I dos”, the international singing sensation said that he’s happy and excited to wed the love of his life soon. “I don’t know what the future brings but I am looking forward to marrying the woman I love and be with the family I choose,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN Lifestyle recently.

For roughly two years now, the couple has been able to keep their relationship as far from the glare of publicity as possible. Hence, it’s surprising to learn that Shy has been a longtime fan of Jake, a transgender man, even then when he was still identifying as Charice Pempengco. “She started as a fan and I only met her in one of my shows,” he said. Later, he would find that they fit the “opposites attract” narrative. “She is the outgoing type of person and I describe myself as an introvert. [Nonetheless,] we both have learned to walk in each other’s shoes and manage to be the best versions of ourselves.”

First month pa lang ng relationship namin, naging kumportable ako sa kanya.”
