With her Cinemalaya film Pan de Salawal finally getting its commercial run this month in cinemas nationwide, child actress Miel Espinoza said she has also been busy working on multiple projects this year including the Mikhail Red horror film Block Z. “Nag-shu-shoot ako Block Z pero hindi pa tapos. Two shooting days pa lang tapos sa Star Cinema may naka plano pa na tatlong pelikula. Ako yung anak ni Ina Raymundo. May squad sila ng Joshlia, si McCoy (de Leon), si Elisse (Joson) pati si Yves (Flores) tapos ako yung kaisa-isang bata,” she shared during the Pan de Salawal presscon held last July 21 in Quezon city.

Miel also shared that she just recently auditioned for the role of young Darna last week. “Hindi pa alam kung ako yung magiging young Darna. Nag-audition na ako and nag-pe-pray ako na ako mapili. May pina memorize naman na lines tapos pina-acting kami. Okay naman po. Madaming tao, madaming bata. 100 plus tapos naging 200 ata. Gusto ko makasama kasi mukhang masaya siya (na project). Favorite ko yung mga ganung action action,” she shared.

With the announcement of Jane De Leon playing the title role of the Pinay superhero, Miel said she has known the Darna star from a previous soap. “Na-meet ko na siya before sa Halik tapos naging young Jane de Leon na ako sa MMK kaya kilala ko na siya. Lagi niya akong nilalambing nun. Mabait po siya. Lagi niya akong pinapapunta sa kanya. Niyayakap, kinakalong niya ako. Lagi niya akong sinasabihan ng, ‘I love you,’ ganun,” she said.

Pan de Salawal opens in cinemas nationwide starting July 24, Wednesday. It stars Bodjie Pascua, Miel Espinoza, Anna Luna, and Soliman Cruz.
