Seasoned actress Lorna Tolentino was early for her visit to the grave of his late husband Rudy "Daboy" Fernandez, who would've been celebrating his 67th birthday last Sunday.

It has been over ten years since Rudy passed away after his years-long battle with peri-ampullary cancer. He was 55.

Rudy, who's known for his acting prowess and unparalleled contribution in Philippine cinema, died at his home in Joeylane Street in Quezon City in the presence of his wife and sons Renz Marion and Raphael Fernandez.

Among his most famous works were award-winning films 'Batuigas.. Pasukuin Si Waway' (1984), 'Victor Corpuz' (1988), and 'Birador' (1998). During his lifetime, Rudy was named Best Actor for 'Batuigas' by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) in 1988, and was bestowed the Fernando Poe, Jr. Memorial Award by FAMAS later in 2007. He was granted a posthumous Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award by the Philippine Movie Press Club and an FPJ Lifetime Achievement Award by FAP the following year.
