After starring in movies like The Annulment and the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival entry Culion, Joem Bascon said he is at a good stage when it comes to his career. “I’m happy with the blessings that are happening right now, with the work that I have, with the promotions that we’re doing, with the company and the people that I’m with. I’m very, very happy. It’s a slow burn. It’s a slow and sure path for me. Ang tagal ko eh pero unti-unti ko siyang nakukuha mas lalo na sa pelikula. Na-pu-prove ko yung sarili ko and I’m doing roles that I really, really love and I’m doing good,” he told PUSH.

After sharing plans to marry his longtime partner vlogger Crisha Uy earlier this year, Joem admitted things are rocky between them at the moment. But the talented actor stressed there is no third party involved. “Siyempre we have our own personal lives, our own personal kumbaga room kung saan nangyayari yung mga dapat mangyari and I guess, yeah may pinagdadaanan kaming dalawa. Basta may pinagdadaanan kaming dalawa at hindi ko alam kung maaayos siya o hindi. Pero walang nangyari. Basta meron kaming pinagdaanan and hindi ko alam kung papaano maaayos,” he said.

Joem said his source of strength now are his friends and his family. “What keeps a man strong naman would be the people, the core group that surrounds him. I’m just here because people are telling me to be okay. Di ba ang tao naman hindi naman pupuwedeng mabuhay mag-isa yan, mahihirapan yan at mababaliw. At alam niyo naman ako nabaliw na ako before (laughs),” he said.
