Actor Joem Bascon has confirmed that he and his girlfriend of more than eight years, vlogger Crisha Uy, have parted ways.

The 33-year-old actor announced the breakup on Tuesday during an acoustic live session for his upcoming film Write About Love, with co-star Yeng Constantino.

Speaking with members of the press, he said: “Hanggang doon na lang siya. Kapag pinilit pa, on my side siguro mas magiging magulo. So I guess hanggang doon ko lang talaga kaya.”

According to Joem, though it was he who initiated the breakup, the decision to end their relationship was mutual.

I guess I really had to decide kaysa masaktan ko pa lalo ang tao,” he said.

“Walang third party, all on me,” he added.

Despite their failed relationship, Joem hopes that he and Crisha could still be friends.

So masakit pa rin for both of us. Siguro lang ngayon, nakakausap niyo ako ng maayos kasi I’m busy with work.
