Daniel Padilla remarked that though he doesn't want to meddle in Karla Estrada's love life, he will always remain protective of his mother.

In an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda, the actor was asked about his thoughts on his mother’s current relationship with Jam Ignacio.

"Ayokong maging kontrabida but at the same time on the lookout lang ako, kumbaga I am just hovering," he said.

The actor added that he wants to be protective of his mom because he already witnessed the many ups and downs in his mother's life.

"Tsaka hindi naman 'yan sa ayoko na sa'yo pero sorry ang dami ko ng narinig at dami ko ng nakita. Lahat ng pinakamasasaya, lahat ng pinakamalulungkot, nakita ko na sa ermat ko eh," he said.

But he stressed that he is very happy for Karla. "Masaya lang ako kay mama, masaya lang ako ngayon kasi she's very happy and I think she's in love and that's good," he said.

Daniel shared that he appreciates the fact that Jam has been reaching out to him but that doesn't mean he would stop being on the lookout for his mother.

"Sa ngayon nakikita ko naman na nagre-reach out [si Jam] kasi last time 'yung birthday ni mama tulog na lahat nandon kami sa bahay ko, dumaan siya don, sumaglit siya at malaking bagay 'yun bilang lalaki dahil siyempre pinapakita mo 'yung totoo pero I'm not saying na ayos na dahil ako ang number one security ng ermat ko," he said.
